About

About Me

I am a wife and mom to 7 kids ages 11-23. Yes, the kids are all ours, together. They're all biological and no twins, and staying home to raise them has always been my priority. I opened my first coastal furniture and antiques store in Gulf Breeze, FL, in operation
from 2013-2015. When my husband got hired by Southwest Airlines I closed up shop and happily reclaimed my title of stay at home mom.

I grew up living near the beach about an hour north of Boston, earning my BA in Communications and Art from Regis College, in Weston, MA. I've lived in just about every region of the US and in Sicily, Italy. I am a FL licensed real estate agent, although I don't practice there because I live in NV.

I am a jack of all trades and master of many, and am am a self-proclaimed over achiever. My passions include my family, antiquing, writing, photography and the beach. We recently bought a vintage houseboat!

My husband Dave is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy. He is a retired Navy P-3 pilot, turned commercial airline pilot for Southwest Airlines. He's also my personal chef. (I'm not kidding.) He does all the cooking! He's a family man and the love of my life.

We moved to Las Vegas in late 2016. We live in Henderson, a small town just outside Vegas, and  close to beautiful Lake Mead. How anyone can survive in this desert, without enjoying the, lake is beyond me! Because life is better at the lake.

About the Family

The kids are Austin 23, Callan 21, Landon 20, Evelyn 18, Lillian 16, Rowan 13, & Davison 11. They are involved in college, sports, video games, digital music, theater, and traveling.

We have five dogs. Annie the chocolate Lab, Stella a Lab mix rescue, Lazer Beam the Chihuahua, Millie, our foster fail, and Stacy the black Lab puppy. Finally, we have two cats. Olive is our Sicilian cat rescue, and Jake the Snake was a dumpster rescue from Pensacola Beach. Now, all seven of them are our fur babies.

About the Blog

My blog is a culmination of stories as a mother (having 7 kids isn't always easy), wife, pilot wife (which is very different from being a normal wife), business owner, and sometimes even a dumpster diver. The things that happen to my don't happen to regular people families. Whenever I mention that, my kids remind me, "Mom, we're NOT normal. There are 9 of us!"

About Auction Fundraisers

I encourage you to visit the "Soliciting for Fundraisers" page, which focuses on planning and executing silent auction fundraisers for a variety non-profit charity organizations and offers links to other retailers who might donate to your cause.

I have organized many silent auction fundraisers for the military spouses' groups, the Navy-Marine Corps Annual Fund, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as part of our former summer swim team's annual community service project. I am happy to share my experience and resources.
